Kirwan investing in flexible packaging
Creatabull Flexibles expands on high-end plastic bag brand, Butchard promoted to GM

Australian-based Kirwan Print Group is undertaking a major expansion into flexible packaging, using a mix of new and existing technology and investments into the Roller Poster arm of the group.

Both the Roller Poster Brand and the Creatabull Bags brand will now disappear to be replaced by Creatabull Flexibles.

Roger Kirwan, founder, Kirwan Print Group moves into the new role of Special Projects, handing the day to day running of Foxcil, Roller Poster and Suddensigns.com to Carl Butchard, who is the new general manager for the group.

Kirwan says, “To grow the business, I have needed to move from working in the business to working on the business. I have spent the last six months accessing the way forward for the group and will need another six months of implementation of our strategy.

“In summary, Foxcil continues strongly, and the trade only model for Foxcil is important to us. Most of our customers understand the importance of Foxcil being the only true full service trade only label supplier, and our aggressive investment in the latest technologies over the last few years has paid off as we have successfully disrupted the market in this space.

“We see no immediate changes for Foxcil. Widening the Roller Poster offer to best use our existing equipment and coupling it with the latest available technology is our next move – flexible packaging is the market we have chosen to disrupt next.

“It has been a couple of years since Kirwan Print Group acquired Roller Poster. We have now decided we need a new name for Roller Poster that better reflects what it is that we can now do and where we are taking the company into the future.”

Roller Poster is a supplier of printed rolls of plastics, including bunting, pallet wrap, table skirts.

Kirwan says despite its historical significance, the Poster reference does not reflect its current offer, now and what the Group plans to bring on board in the coming months.

He says, “Essentially Roller Poster we will be turning into a full service flexible packaging company with a modern digital twist and our name needs to now reflect this.

“We are immediately changing the name of Roller Poster to Creatable Flexibles. To keep things simple for our customers we will still legally be Roller Poster Pty Ltd, but we will be trading as Creatabull. Last year we market tested a version of the Creatabull brand by having a sub brand for Roller poster of Creatabull bags, when our new plastic bag capabilities came on line.”

“Our new Brand – Creatabull flexibles -  will better reflect out Flexible packaging offer. The refreshed Creatabull updated logo, also reflects the family link with the Foxcil brand.

“Creatabull will offer service and turnaround times not ever seen in the flexible packaging industry in Australia.

“We will be making announcements on our final product expansion in the coming weeks and months, as individual capex decisions are finalised, along with the plans for our new factory, which will double our current factory footprint.”
